A much-loved Invercargill family event returns on Saturday 31 October—and our club is joining the team bringing it to life.

Halloween in the Park is set to return in 2026, with Invercargill Rotary clubs collaborating to welcome families back for an afternoon of spooky fun.

Previously organised and hosted by the Rotary Club of North Invercargill, the event has grown considerably and now requires more hands-on support.

Our club was all set to take part in the 2025 event, but it was cancelled after extreme weather struck on Thursday 23 October.

Save the date

Saturday 31 October, 3–6pm
Spooky Stumpery beside the Blind Low Vision Centre, Queens Drive

The free, family-friendly event will feature games, an art station, costume prizes, sweets and a free sausage sizzle—all with a suitably spooky theme.

Our club’s part in the fun

Club Directors have approved a financial contribution towards event costs, and we have also been invited to provide hands-on support.

Working alongside the East Club, members can help with the coordination of one of the afternoon’s activities.

Lisa-Maree Fleck is coordinating our club’s involvement and is looking for members who can help with the gazebo and activity setup, some supervision on the activity and pack-down. Whether you love Halloween or can simply spare a short block of time, every contribution will help.

How you can help

  • Gazebo Setup – 2:00pm (20mins)
  • Activity Setup – 2:00pm (45mins)
  • Activity Supervision – 3:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Pack-down – 6pm (30mins)

This is more than a chance to enjoy some spooky fun. It is an opportunity to work alongside fellow Rotarians and help deliver a free, memorable event for Invercargill families.
