Do you know the history behind the Rotary Wheel?

Caption: A mystery of how this wooden front on the table top lectern came to be was uncovered by accident.

Soon after President Lisa conducted her first meeting, she went to move the wooden "table top lectern" that sits at at table alongside the main lectern at formal meetings.

When she lifted it up the front became separated and on closer inspection, amongst the other scars of age, noticed a little typed sticker saying "made and presented to the Invercargill Rotary Club by President Herbie Weston on the occasion of his 60th birthday in 1947".

Had this separation not happened accidently this piece of club history on the origins of the wooden table top lectern front would not be known.

Our club number is 1734 when it was founded in 1924. D53 was the District number at the time our club was formed, it pertained to all of New Zealand,  The South Island later became a District in its own right and then later became 9980 Timaru south.
