Our future is bright with the likes of Holly Goble :)

Kia ora club members,

I was super proud to hear Holly Goble speak at our formal meeting last Tuesday. She is a lovely, enterprising young lady with such a bright future ahead of her.

Holly spoke to the club about her experience at the Rotary National Science and Technology Forum held earlier this year in Auckland, and it seemed it was an experience of a lifetime! Holly made some incredible connections while at the forum and what she learnt made her realise that she wanted to learn more about medical sciences, rather than the engineering pathway she thought she would go down. It was Holly's first time public speaking, and she amazed the club members with her confidence and capabilities. As a prefect at Southland Girls High School, and an avid rower, Holly is working hard to complete Year 13 at school. She hopes to head away to Otago University next year to complete a degree in medicine, and we certainly wish her the very best of luck!

Michael, thank you for selecting such an outstanding candidate as our nominee for the incredible Science and Technology Forum Rotary has supported over many years.

Omaui Environmental Education Project
Our community projects are still on the go, with a further working bee for Omaui on 04 May 2024. This working bee will see us complete the 17m left of the walking tracks and then plant 400+ trees. We will have the support of Boys Brigade group who will be camping out at Omaui that week. We call all club members to join us as it is such a worthwhile, special cause and hanging out with the Rotary family while carrying out this work, is truly wonderful.
