Dean Addie Co-founder, CEO, and CRO of T4 Group https://t4group.nz/about
Hello fellow Rotarians
Thank you to all of our members and their partners who helped with the Santa parade last Saturday with road marshalling, driving floats and pegging out parking spaces for floats and food vendors stalls on gala street, it was truly appreciated.
What a spectacular day it was with sunshine and a record crowd reported.
A special thanks to Ross and Alice for their tireless work on coordinating the Santa parade to help make it a memorable event for the families of Invercargill and Southland.
On Tuesday our guest speaker was Dean Addie from the T4 group and we heard a professional presentation on the progress made toward a digital data storage facility on Findlay road at Makarewa plus the other data storage centres in New Zealand they are involved with, and we look forward to Dean returning at a later date with another update on the T4 group.
It was my honour and privilege on Tuesday (with Karen Poff's assistance) to induct our newest club member Hemal Amarasekara, and it was great to have Hemal's presence at the Santa parade helping out last Saturday.
We also had our clubs' financial statements presented by Stephen O'Connor and these reports have been emailed out to all members and please let Stephen know if you have any questions on the financial reports.
If you have not received it yet, I emailed out the abbreviated minutes from the last directors meeting held on the 25th November, and if you have any questions on these please let me know, or contact one of the other directors.
The next directors’ meeting is on the 27th January and if you have anything to add to the agenda please email it through.
We have three successful RYLA (Rotary Young Leader Awards) applicants off this course in Queenstown next year. They are - Tamsyn Potgieter, Erin Calder and Shaye Morgan and congratulations to these outstanding young people and also thankyou too Malloch McLeans and GM Designs for their sponsorship and I look forward to Tamsyn, Shaye and Erin sharing their experiences with us at some stage next year.
On a personal note I attended a presentation by Prime minister Christopher Luxton and Agriculture minister Todd McClay MP at Waimumu, where it was positively stated that the Agricultural sector in NZ was the power house of the NZ economy and would be pivotal in boosting the economy's performance going forward, and I know that our province will benefit from this in many ways.
Finally, I hope you can make the Christmas lunch on the 17th and this will be the last chance to contribute to our Christmas hamper for the Presbyterian support services.
Have a great week and take care.
Michael Blomfield
