Some of the 2025 Lunch in the Park attendees

Starting the Calendar Year with an informal lunch in Queens Park has become a tradition.

Everyone and anyone is welcomed with no set formality or timeframes.

A table is booked at the Cheeky Llama Cafe in the park under Rotary from 12.15pm til 2:15.

People are invited to come at a time that fits your day, come at 12.15 or come later or somewhere in between and stay for as long as works for you.

Our Club has a long history with Queens Park, with our Club building the children's paddling pool in 1953 and in 1955 the Club added the jungle gym for the jubilee of Rotary international and supporting the bronze tuatara statue millennium project of the combined Rotary clubs of Invercargill in the year 2000.

Members gave up several Saturday mornings in 1963 to construct a shelter - used as changing rooms for the paddling pool.

One of the original Club Members JB Thompson bequeathed a sum of money towards the statuary in the playground.

Lunch is at own cost / order at the counter on arrival.
