Rotary Southland & Grace Street Project "united for good"
The $15,000 donation from the Southland Rotary Raffle and Southern Scooter Challenge Event Finish Line Auction was presented on Friday 8th May 5.30pm at Grace Street Project Site.
The raffle and auction were an extra layer to the Placemakers Southern Scooter Challenge. The challenge involved just under 200 riders on 50cc scooters riding 194km from Invercargill to Te Anau raising funds of over $62,000 for the Grace Street Project.
Representatives from 7 of the 9 Southland Rotary Clubs were present for the Rotary donation presentation with apologies spoken to at the presentation from Fiordland and Gore Club's.
The donation of $15,000 will be put towards stage 2 of the project.
Stage 1 of the construction is well underway and those in attendance were given a walk through and construction overview / update.
