Some of the 2024 Daffodil Day team in action collecting donations.
Our Club is once again supporting the Cancer Society with their annual fundraising appeal - Daffodil Day - Friday 29th August 2025 and we need volunteers to be on the stand collecting donations.
We have had an ongoing Community Partnership with the Cancer Society across a number of years, supporting Relay for Life events, Daffodil Day collecting and the local division was our major recipient of the 2019 Book Sale proceeds.

with the $10,000 donation cheque presented by Past Presidents' Neil Boniface and Ria Bond in August 2019.
The 2025 collection location is confirmed back at our usual spot at Ascot 4 Square, 698 Tay Street, Invercargill.
Funds raised will help cancer patients and their families (whānau) get the care and practical support they need; from crucial help getting to treatment via the free driving service, through to specialist nursing and psychology support, and accommodation for those needing life-saving treatment far from home.
Community Club Director, Helen Cook is co-ordinating our Clubs support with volunteers on a roster basis across the day from 8am to 6pm. Please note for H & S requirements two people are required on the collection stand at all times.
Please check your diary and let Helen Cook know if you, and a work colleague, friend or family member can do an hour on Friday 29 August. Roster with remaining time slots will be on tables at the 5th August meeting.
Helen can be contacted on email: helencook697@gmail.com or on cellphone: 027-310-8587.
