President Michael with one of the trailers of rubbish from the 'Clean Up'
Members of our Club supported the joint Club Clean Up on Sunday 16th March co-ordinated by the South Club.
Members, family, friends and members of the public met on the beach at 9am and walked Ōreti Beach in both directions.
Approx 900 kgs of rubbish was picked up.
Underpants, socks, 10 tyres, a paddling pool and 2 toothbrushes were items not expected to be picked up amongst the numerous cans and bottles.
Plastic lollipop sticks were noted as a item increasing on the to be picked up list.

The Clean Up included the Beach entrance and the road between the Beach and Fosbender Park and picnic areas at Fosbender Park.
A sausage sizzle at Fosbender Park after clean up was a great way to finish.

Many thanks to Paul and Mel Cade from the Rotary Club of Invercargill South for organising the day and the City Council for supporting with no charges for the trailers to be emptied.

Shout out to Dave, and his two daughters Paddy and Molly who come along to help out.
