Jubilee Budget Advisory Service, was chosen as the major beneficiary of this year’s Rotary Book Sale.   Jubilee Budget Advisory Service provides budgeting advice and financial education, free support services working alongside people to manage their finances.

Book Sale Committee chair Richard Russell and Club President Michael Blomfield presented the donation  of $25,000 Jubilee Budget Advisory Service Chair Peter Laurie, and Board Member Christine Dallas at the July 1st Meeting.

Peter Laurie, Board Chair, thanked the Club for the donation and spoke about the donation being much needed due to funding cuts.

Cherie Winder, Jubilee General Manager also expressed thanks to the Club,  “We’re deeply grateful to be chosen as the recipient of this year’s Rotary Book Sale proceeds. Whanau are struggling with the standard day-to-day expenses, and this support helps us fill the growing gaps — especially where demand has outpaced funding. The need in our community is growing — we’re currently supporting over 600 clients, many of whom are facing significant financial stress. This funding helps us support and walk alongside people in distress. Often, we’re advocating for those who can’t speak up for themselves — helping them keep their homes, manage overwhelming debt, or access the support they’re entitled to. Thank you to Rotary and everyone who supported the sale — your kindness is helping restore dignity, stability, and hope for some of our most vulnerable Southlanders.”

Over the years, the club has donated more than $1 million back to local organisations during the previous 44 events it has held.
