![]() Businesswoman
May 03, 2022
Jocelyn (Joc) O’Donnell, Transport World executive director After the death of her father, businessman Bill Richardson, Joc O’Donnell not only became a director of HWR Group – one of the largest family-owned companies in New Zealand – she also inherited her Dad’s expansive collection of vintage trucks. Fast-forward several years, and spurred by the knowledge her father hoped somebody would continue sharing his vehicles with others, Joc decided to open a museum housing the world-class collection amassed by her father as a tourist attraction. Bill Richardson Transport World opened in late 2015, followed in quick succession by Classic Motorcycle Mecca (2016), Dig This Invercargill (2017), The Lodges at Transport World (2017), and TW Events & Incentives (2019). Spearheaded by Joc, Transport World’s range of visitor attractions were developed in a bid to increase tourism, generate economic growth, and create a legacy in the city of Invercargill. Joc is married to Scott and together they have three adult children: Harrison, Cameron, and Isabella. In her free time, she enjoys tackling marathons, travelling and brushing up her French language skills. |
