Guest Speaker - 18th August:
Dr Jane Kitson stepped in at short notice after campaign restrictions prevented Dr Liz Craig attending as guest speaker.
Dr Jane, an ecologist and environmental scientist with research interests in freshwater, mahinga kai and cultural monitoring, spoke about her involvement in the New River Estuary Forum and how they are connecting the community to save this regional taonga (treasure).
Unfortunately due to technical issues she was unable to show the slides that she referenced during her talk - but if anyone would like a copy - please email
lmfkjs@xtra.co.nz and I can send them on. Below is a link for any members looking for further reading for the
recently released report on Managing Estuaries by the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment.
