The first 'in person' meeting was held on Tuesday 3rd June.
President Ria welcomed members back, spoke of her reflections of & about 'hope' and the challenges people faced during lockdown and that the challenges that will remain after Lockdown
Ria also acknowledged some of the special occassions of members that came about during lockdown including birthdays, and anniversaries.
Warren Warburton thanked members for his 50th Club Membership Anniversary acknowledgement.
Special acknowledgement was given to Alan McElroy, as was his last meeting before relocating North. Ross Wensley, Helen McCurdy and Richard Russell spoke to Alan McElroy's Club contribution, service and commitment as Member No 9. There were some funny stories recalled about Alan's time as Sergeant, his commitment and support to the Annual Booksale, including a fun fact that Alan estimates he has carried over 4000 banana boxes in his truck for the book sales over the years. There were special stories shared about special friendships and fun times.
Alan was recognised for his "no nonsense can-do attitude" and being a "Rotarian role model" that was well deserving of his Paul Harris Fellowship.
A number of members commented on it being 'like the old times' being back up at level 6 with just the extra space at tables being a 'new thing'.
The view from Level 6 out over the CBD development was an added bonus for members to check out the progress.
