This project is to help women and families in Women’s Refuge in need, with the aim of giving them a "Hand-up" when starting out.

 

Invercargill Women’s Refuge tell us there is definitely a need in our community for this project. 

 

Their area covers all of Southland:   Eastern Southland, Western and Central Southland and includes the Lakes District area.

 

How the project works....

We are looking for your help in giving up good quality used handbags, backpacks, small duffle bags or toilet bags to donate along with toiletry items to fill them with.

This could include items such as shampoos, conditioners, soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, tissues and any other basic bathroom necessities.  Things like hotel toiletries would be ideal.   Also good quality used sheets and towels etc.  All the sort of things needed for someone getting their life back on track and starting afresh after an abusive relationship.

 

The great thing about this project is that it is of no cost to anyone - it is all based on our donated items or maybe an extra something that goes into our trolley at the grocery shop.
