District Conference 19 -21 March

Each year, Districts are asked by Rotary International to hold a conference for club members so they can learn about what's happening in Rotary, their District and meet other Rotarians in the area.
The Rotary District 9980 “Power of Moments” Conference to be held in Waimate over 19-21 March 2021 includes:
  • Rotary International President Holger Knaack address to inspire and motivate participants.
  • Local and international speakers who will give presentations on leadership; personal development; governance; peacekeeping;  inclusiveness;  diversity; teamwork; humanitarian efforts; Rotary Oceania centenary initiatives and recent Club Global Grant and District Grant projects.
  • District Speech Competition Final
  • District Awards
There will also be an opportunity for participants to contribute a small amount of volunteer time to the newly established Point Bush Eco-Sanctuary in Waimate.

Most importantly the Conference gives participants time to network, reconnect with friends, and find inspiration for continuing Rotary service, project partnerships and community leadership.

Significant sponsorship has been secured for the Conference to keep registration fee to$150.  This is excellent value considering the calibre of speakers, entertainers, and catering being provided throughout the weekend.

The Saturday night social event theme is “Green”.
Nice and easy….or as complex as you want it to be!
