Southland Girls High School (SGHS) – Bushy Point Project
Bushy Point Restoration Project is an ongoing project to restore a 14-hectare area of pasture grass, located between two remnants of nationally significant native Totara forest in Otatara.
SGHS have been involved with this project since 2005 as part of their “Community Breakout” days. SGHS are looking for volunteer support for their Year 7 and 8 students for the upcoming planting days in Term 3.

Southland Girls High School (SGHS) – Reader Writer Assistance
Over the years, the numbers of students requiring this specialist support has increased dramatically. At SGHS, they currently have 43 students in the Senior school (Years 11,12 &13) requiring assistance.
SGHS is looking for volunteers for Reader-Writer Assistance for Year 11-13 exams in September & November to read Exam questions or writing the answers or in some cases both.
The exams for these students are held in a separate classroom / away from the main examination area and other students.
Our contribution through this project will significantly impact the Students potential success and is invaluable to the school.
Training is provided - Police vetting will be required.
