The education component of this month’s club forum was World Polio Day on October 24.

Last year we planted our pumpkin seeds to acknowledge the day and had a six month focus on polio through the pumpkin project.

This year a simpler fundraiser was proposed.

However, planning around hosting a Polio Movie as Club, as done previously, has encountered a few hurdles.

The Readings Cinema is not able to confirm a reopening date after extensive renovations and covid has impacted the movie industry with the release dates of movies not being able to be confirmed by the distributors in the usual time frames.

Watch this space where is a will there will be a way.

If you are keen to be involved with the 2022 Polio Movie Project that is still being "imagined" please liaise with Lisa-Maree directly.

There is also disturbing news that polio has come back to the United Kingdom and the US.
