Congratulations everyone we reached our Host a Roast fundraising goal.
Caption; Club member Eddie Bremer with his raffle prize.

Eddie was the recipient of the special Bellamy's branded liquid at the special raffle that was held on Tuesday.

We made a further $75 which meant the club achieved the $500 to go to our Host the Roast donation to Ronald McDonald Family Room at Southland Hospital.

Thanks to all those who supported the raffle on the day.

Did you know?

The first bill passed by Parliament in 1854 was the "Bellamy's Bill", the Licensing Amendment Act, that permitted the sale of alcohol within Parliament; MPs even suspended standing orders to do it. 'Setting up a grog-shop for members', Legislative Councillor Frederick Whitaker called it. New Zealand followed Britain and called its parliamentary refreshment room Bellamy's, after John Bellamy who set up shop in the House of Commons in 1773.
