Omaui, done and dusted!
Hard at work... At least the Rotarians are!
Kia ora members,
Last Saturday we were all extremely proud to have finished the Omaui collaborative project to such a high standard. We managed to plant the last of the plants on Saturday - I believe it was almost 200 plants, and this was possible as we worked alongside the team from The Y. It was Jason Holland's last day with The Y and we hope we did him proud as the project and vision were driven by him. I know those of you who know Jason will wish him the very best of luck!
Lisa-Maree has pulled together a story with some photos from last Saturday. I've added a couple myself in the bulletin.
Reminders:
- Formal lunch meeting - 17 September Level 6 - Guest Speaker is our very own Peter Dunn who will share 'New Thoughts on Climate Change'
- Club Forum meeting - 24 September and will be at Malloch Mclean
- Rotary Club of Invercargill Changeover - 05 November Level 6
Calling All Reader Writers
We need Reader Writers for Southland Girls’ High School exams on each of the days below.
All of our members are capable of doing this task, and I appeal to you to help with the project.
In simple terms - you need to be able to 1) read the exam question to the student and 2) write down the exam answer the student tells you.
This will vary a bit depending on each student’s needs.
Tuesday 5 November
Thursday 7 November
Friday 8 November
Tuesday 12 November
Wednesday 13 November
Thursday 14 November
Times to be confirmed but the exams are 2-3 hours long.
This is a great opportunity to help with students’ progress and success in life, and I’m hoping that everyone can help on at least 2 days each.
Please send trish.lindsay@sit.ac.nz an email with the days you can help.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
