Getting ready for the 2024 Book Sale

Stephen & Lisa-Maree at last years event

Kia ora club members,
I only have a very brief message for you this week, and it's mostly about the Book Sale!
We had photos taken in front of the Scottish Hall last Tuesday as we started our publicity campaign about the 2024 Book Sale. We are anticipating things will start to ramp up now as the word is out that the Book Sale is on! I have received a call from Otautau Library with several boxes of books they want to donate, as well as from members of the community.
There will be further details in the story below, and the Book Sale Committee will be scheduling tasks for us and more details will follow.
The Grace Street Project will be the major recipient of our Book Sale this year. Some of you would have heard Janette Malcolm and Mervyn English come and speak to our club about the project. You can read more about the project here:
I want to disclose my interest in this project, as I am a Trustee on the Community Connections Trust of Invercargill, that are managing this project.  I declared my interest at the Director's meeting when this decision was made, and I would like to reassure you that I was not part of the voting process for this decision.
We do have two separate community projects on this weekend:
Omaui Environmental Education Project - 04 May 2024
The work will include the 17m of walkway and then on to planting trees
We will start at around 10.30am tomorrow morning for those that can assist.
Next day out at Omaui will be 18 May 2024
Rotary Dream Home 'Part II’ - Breathing Space Units
Ross will be back at the Breathing Space Units tomorrow for another working bee. If you can help out, that would be very greatly appreciated.
