The spread of misinformation in the modern age
Jun 13, 2023
Brett Solvander has spent a career in media and communications, with television production being a part of this, but he is better known as a public relations practitioner, who has worked in various senior communications roles in both the public and private sectors, here and overseas. Brett has also worked for government ministers as a ministerial press secretary and established his own communications consultancy in the mid 1990’s with business partner and wife, Wilma Falconer. In his presentation Brett will focus on the spread of misinformation in the modern age and how we as information consumers can navigate propaganda, lies and fake news to get to the truth. This subject has meaning for everyone interested in getting to what we understand to be the undiluted facts so that we can make well informed decisions for ourselves and for those we care about |
