As some of you will know, I am a Climate Change Sceptic and the proposed zero Carbon Bill will create a vast unnecessary bureaucracy,
A Climate Change Commission, Emission budgets, Climate Change adaption plans, and the Carbon credits market extended.
Those that don’t understand Agriculture will thresh at the sector and the resultant reduction in farm income and increase in costs will destroy NZ’s total standard of living.
Emission targets to regulate Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Nitrous Oxide and other gases they can find.
These are designed to target farmers as Environmental extremists and they want to see stock numbers reduced and farming limited as an economic actively.
The IPCC Scientists are saying GHG is 30% human induced.
In fact other work by eminent Scientists would suggest it is only 5% and 40% of GHG is Water vapor.
The world needs Co2 to make plants grow and to grow extra food to feed the population of the future.
Methane is mostly produced by grazing animals in NZ digesting food. Methane is not the problem, the activists are making it out to be and Livestock are Carbon neutral and pasture sequests Carbon into the soil .Methane from Agriculture should not be included in the emission scheme as it is in equilibrium in 10-12 years.
It is all about failed climate models.
If they looked further they would discover that there are many credible papers based on observation and experiments that indicate a high probability that the world will soon enter a cooling cycle.
Right now sunspot levels are lower than they have been since the little “Ice Age” and the correlation between sunspot levels and temperature is very strong.
